Smyrna, GA – Truck Accident Leads to Injuries in NB Lanes of I-285
Smyrna, GA (May 17, 2022) – Injuries were reported in a truck accident that took place on a major highway in Smyrna on Monday afternoon, May 16.
According to Smyrna officials, the accident happened in the northbound lanes of I-285 around the area of exit 16, South Atlanta Road at 12:25 p.m. A tractor-trailer was traveling in the area when it became involved in an accident with at least one or more passenger vehicles. The involved vehicles were badly damaged as a result.
Paramedics, fire crews, and several other responders were called to the scene to help those in need. One or more victims sustained injuries as a result of the accident. The parties were rushed to local hospitals for treatment, though their conditions are not yet known.
Due to the severity of the accident, all lanes of traffic were blocked in the area for some time. Police quickly worked to clear the scene.
