Savannah, GA – Pedestrian Accident with Injuries on Ogeechee Rd 

Savannah, GA (September 4, 2022) – Around 9 p.m. on Saturday, September 3, a pedestrian accident took place on a roadway in Savannah. 

According to Chatham County Police, the accident happened at 6000 Ogeechee Road. A person in a wheelchair was attempting to cross the street when they were suddenly struck by a passenger vehicle in the area. It is believed that the driver of the passenger vehicle remained at the scene of the crash after the accident. 

Paramedics, fire crews, and several other local responders were called to the scene of the accident. The pedestrian, who has not yet been formally identified, was rushed to the hospital. Police reported that they were responsive at the time of the crash. 

The roadway was blocked in the area for an extended period of time. Police worked to clear the scene as quickly as possible.
