Savannah, GA – Johnathan Beck Killed in Pedestrian Crash on White Bluff Rd

Savannah, GA (October 4, 2022) – A pedestrian male was killed in a fatal accident at a Savannah intersection on Monday morning, October 3.

Officers in Savannah were called to the scene around 10:40 a.m. where they found that a pedestrian was involved in an accident at the intersection of White Bluff Road and Abercorn Street. A man started to run across the street at the intersection when he was suddenly struck by a Ford Explorer that was making a right turn. The driver struck the pedestrian and then waited at the scene for police. The driver claimed that they did not see the pedestrian until it was too late.

Several responders, including paramedics and fire crews, were immediately dispatched to the scene to help those in need. The pedestrian, who has since been identified as 36-year-old Johnathan Beck, was tragically pronounced dead at the scene due to severe injuries.

The roadway was blocked at the intersection for an extended period of time. Police worked to clear the scene as quickly as possible.

The investigation into the circumstances of the collision continues.

We would like to offer our warmest condolences to the family and friends of the victim whose life was lost in this collision.

Pedestrian Accidents in Georgia

In the state of Georgia, pedestrian accidents are known for being some of the most severe accidents on our roads. This is due to the fact that pedestrians have no protection from harm when they are involved in an accident with any type of vehicle. Hundreds of pedestrians lose their lives in Georgia accidents every year, making Georgia one of the most common states for these types of accidents. In 2021, it was reported that 322 pedestrians were killed in fatal accidents and many others were seriously injured. If you have lost someone you love in a pedestrian accident, it is crucial that you speak with an attorney who has handled these types of claims in the past.

Moving forward as a family after a fatal accident is never an easy thing to do. You may be faced with a wide array of questions that you cannot answer on your own, which include the following:

  • What deadlines will you be required to meet as you move forward with a wrongful death claim?
  • Will your claim be settled or will it make it all the way to trial?

These are questions that you will be able to answer when you speak with a knowledgeable Savannah wrongful death attorney
