Savannah, GA – Dominquez Habacuc Killed in Pedestrian Crash on Ogeechee Rd

Savannah, GA (January 30, 2023) – Around 4:20 a.m. on the morning of Sunday, January 29, a man was killed in a fatal pedestrian crash in Savannah.
According to Savannah Police, the accident happened on Ogeechee Road around the area of Gamble Road. Police confirmed that a male pedestrian was attempting to walk across the street in the area of the intersection when he was suddenly struck by a 2017 Chevrolet Cruze that was traveling westbound and did not stop in time. The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene of the collision.
Savannah responders, including local paramedics and fire crews, were dispatched to the scene to help those in need. The pedestrian, who has since been identified as 43-year-old Dominguez Habacuc, was tragically pronounced dead at the scene o the accident due to traumatic injuries. Nobody else sustained injuries in the accident.
The roadway was blocked in the area of the accident for some time following the collision. Police worked to clear the scene as quickly as possible.
