Sandy Springs, GA – Injury Accident on GA-400 Near Abernathy Rd 

Sandy Springs, GA (September 29, 2022) – Injuries stemmed from a serious car accident that took place on a major roadway in Sandy Springs on Friday morning, September 30. 

According to Sandy Springs Police, the accident happened around 8:09 a.m. in the southbound lanes of GA-400 around the area of exit 5, Abernathy Road. Two or more vehicles were traveling in the southbound lanes of traffic when they collided with each other due to reasons that are not entirely known. The vehicles moved onto the left side of the road and sustained severe damages. 

Several local responders, including paramedics and fire crews, were called to the scene to help those in need. One or more parties were hurt as a result of the collision. The injured parties were taken to local hospitals for treatment, though their conditions are not yet known. 

The left lane of traffic was blocked in the area for an extended period of time, which led to extensive delays. 

No further details have been released at this time. The investigation into the circumstances of the collision continues.
