Sandersville, GA – Couple Killed in Fatal Truck Crash on Fall Line Fwy

Sandersville, GA (March 8, 2022) – Two people were killed in a fatal truck crash that took place in Sandersville involving a log truck this week.

According to Georgia State Patrol officials, the accident happened on Fall Line Freeway around the area of J.M. McCullough Road at the Baldwin-Wilkinson County line. Police confirmed that an 82-year-old man was traveling north in a Ford LGT when he started to make a left turn. At the same time, a log truck came through the intersection and the two vehicles collided with each other. The log truck struck the Ford in the passenger’s side.

Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were called to the scene to help those in need. The driver of the Ford and his 75-year-old wife were both pronounced dead at the scene due to multiple blunt force trauma. It is not known if the driver of the log truck was injured.

The roadway was blocked in multiple lanes of traffic for some time as police worked to clear the scene.

No further details have been released but the investigation remains ongoing. Police will update with more information as it is available.

We would like to offer our deepest condolences to the families of the deceased victims at this time.
