Rossville, GA (January 24, 2023) – One person was killed in a fatal motorcycle accident that took place in Rossville on the afternoon of Monday, January 23.

According to Georgia State Patrol officials, the accident happened around 4:30 p.m. on Mission Ridge Road. Police confirmed that a motorcyclist was traveling in the area when they were unable to stop and slammed into a van that was attempting to make a left turn. The motorcycle struck the vehicle on the passenger’s side and sustained severe damages.

Paramedics, fire crews, and several other responders were called to the scene to help those in need. The motorcyclist, who has since been identified as 44-year-old Gerald Shane Dagnan, was tragically pronounced dead at the scene due to traumatic injuries. Nobody else was hurt in the collision.

A large portion of the road was blocked for an extended period of time as police worked to clear the scene after the accident.
