Rincon, GA – Child Killed in Fatal House Fire on McCall Rd

Rincon, GA (July 26, 2022) – Officials reported that a child was killed and a mother was seriously injured in a house fire that took place in Rincon.

According to Effingham County officials, the fire started to break out in a home off of McCall Road in the Westwood neighborhood in Rincon. When the fire broke out, it quickly spread throughout the home and blazed out of control. Four children and their mother were inside the home at the time of the fire.

Paramedics, fire crews, and several other responders were immediately dispatched to the scene to help those in need. A 3-year-old child inside the home was tragically pronounced dead at the scene. The child’s mother, identified as Samantha Brady, was seriously injured and hospitalized. The other children are expected to be okay.

The area was blocked off for an extended period of time after the fire. Fire crews worked for some time to bring the fire under control.

No further details have been released but the investigation into the circumstances of the accident continues at this time.

Our deepest condolences go out to the family and friends of the victim whose life was taken in this accident. We also hope that the injured party receives a full recovery.
