Pelzer, SC (November 30, 2022) – A Missouri resident was killed following a head-on collision in the Pelzer area that was initially reported on Monday, November 7.
The deadly accident took place at the intersection of US-29 and SC-3 at around 6:25 p.m. The 55-year-old driver of a northbound Toyota pickup truck reportedly crossed the centerline into oncoming traffic. The Toyota crashed head-on with a Jeep.
The driver of the Jeep and four passengers were hospitalized, as was the driver of the pickup truck. An occupant of the Jeep was later pronounced dead at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center on Thursday, November 24.
The deceased party was later identified as 41-year-old Toney Shrell Perkins of Hattiesburg, Missouri.
An ongoing investigation into the cause of the fatal accident is in progress.
