Olanta, SC – Bats McCutchen Killed in Motorcycle Crash at US-378 & Park Ave
Olanta, SC (June 17, 2022) – A collision involving two motorcycles left one person dead and another injured in Olanta on Thursday, June 16. The deadly crash was reported at the intersection of US-378 and Park Avenue at around 3:35 p.m.
The two motorcycles were reportedly headed westbound on the highway as a box truck was traveling north. The two bikes collided with the oncoming box truck. One of the riders suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. The other was hurt and taken to a local hospital for treatment.
The deceased party was later identified as 21-year-old Bates Coy McCutchen of Alcolu. No additional information has been provided.
An ongoing crash investigation is underway.
