Hit-&-Run Accidents in South Carolina
According to the most current figures, the frequency of hit-and-run collisions and deaths is growing year over year. In 2015, there were more than 737,100 hit-and-run accidents registered throughout the country. Every 43 seconds, a hit-and-run accident occurs somewhere in the United States. A total of 2,049 people were murdered in hit-and-run accidents in 2016. This is the most ever recorded number.
Pedestrians are among the most vulnerable road users because they lack seat belts, airbags, helmets, and other safety equipment. In our car-centered world, many drivers of cars and trucks do not look for or notice pedestrians, and many are unaware of or simply disobey local restrictions requiring them to yield to pedestrians trying to cross a street. This might result in devastating harm or death for the pedestrian.
Few people expect to be seriously injured in a pedestrian accident, yet thousands of pedestrians are injured every year throughout the state and need legal assistance to recover damages. Many injured parties are unsure how to seek justice for their injuries after an accident. Thus hiring a lawyer is recommended. The legal team at Monge & Associates is committed to ensuring that you get the compensation you deserve, and we believe that victims of car accidents are entitled to a full recovery.
