Myrtle Beach, SC - Pedestrian Dies in Hit-&-Run on Breezewood Blvd

In recent years, the number of hit-and-run collisions in the United States has reached all-time highs. In 2015, there were over 737,100 hit-and-run collisions reported in the United States. This means that on average, one occurred every 43 seconds. The number of confirmed hit-and-run deaths in 2016 was 2,149, the highest number ever recorded.

Pedestrians are at a serious disadvantage when involved in a crash with a motor vehicle and are more likely to suffer from life-threatening injuries. This has contributed to a substantial rise in pedestrian fatalities nationwide. Unlike those traveling in passenger cars, pedestrians have little protection from the full impact of an accident. The resulting injuries can be life-changing. Drivers are required to yield the right of way and share the road with pedestrians. When they fail to do so, they can be held liable under state law. A Myrtle Beach pedestrian injury lawyer can help recover financial compensation for your injuries after being hit by a negligent driver.
