Midway, GA – Two Injured in Critical Dump Truck Crash on Leroy Coffer Hwy 

Midway, GA (July 8, 2022) – Around 3:30 p.m. on the afternoon of Friday, July 8, two people were critically injured in a dump truck accident in Midway. 

According to Liberty County officials, the accident happened on Leroy Coffer Highway around the area of Rogers Pasture Road. A dump truck was traveling in the area when it proceeded through the intersection. The dump truck collided with a passenger vehicle due to unknown reasons, which led to extensive damages. Debris was left scattered all over the road. 

Several responders, including paramedics and fire crews, were immediately dispatched to the scene to help those in need. Two people had to be extricated from the passenger vehicle by fire crews. The parties were critically injured and taken to Memorial Hospital for treatment of their injuries.

The eastbound lanes of traffic were completely blocked in the area for an extended period of time. Police worked to clear the scene as quickly as possible. 

No further details have been released but police continue their investigation into the circumstances of the collision.
