McCormick, SC – Driver Dies Attempting to Avoid Crash on SC-23
McCormick, SC (December 12, 2021) – One person was killed following a traffic accident on Saturday night, December 11, in the McCormick area. The deadly crash occurred on SC-23 at around 8:58 p.m.
Two vehicles were reportedly involved in the crash. The driver of a 2001 Ford pickup truck traveling eastbound on the highway. Another Ford pickup driven by a 15-year-old was following the first vehicle.
The juvenile motorist attempted to pass the first vehicle. The driver of the first pickup left the roadway while trying to avoid being hit by the second motorist. The vehicle struck a tree, and the driver sustained fatal injuries. No other injuries were reported in the crash.
