Deadly Car Crashes in South Carolina
One of the most dangerous activities we engage in on a daily basis is driving a car. In 2018, South Carolina had the highest rate of fatal collisions per capita in the country. Automobiles, trucks, and SUVs were responsible for roughly 65% of all traffic deaths in the state that year, with 1,037 fatalities. Other motorists are to blame for 82% of all fatal crashes in South Carolina, according to statistics.
If a loved one was killed in an accident, you should file a wrongful death claim. A number of complicated rules govern these claims, including who can file a claim and when a wrongful death claim in South Carolina is appropriate. When the at-fault party was the direct cause of the victim’s death, a wrongful death lawsuit is an option. A representative of the deceased should file a claim and attempt to prove the defendant’s negligence with the help of a Marlboro personal accident lawyer.
