Macon, GA (December 20, 2022) – Around 11:19 p.m. on Monday night, December 19, a pedestrian was killed in a fatal collision in Macon.
According to Bibb County officials, the accident happened at 5000 Eisenhower Parkway. Police confirmed that a pedestrian was walking in the area when he was suddenly struck by a driver in a Ford pickup truck that was traveling west. The driver allegedly remained at the scene of the crash after it happened.
Several responders, including Macon fire crews and paramedics, were dispatched to the scene to help those in need. The pedestrian, who has since been identified as 60-year-old Willie Lee Granville, was tragically pronounced dead at the scene due to traumatic injuries. Nobody else was hurt as a result of the collision.
Due to the severity of the accident, a large portion of the road was blocked. Police worked to clear the scene as quickly as possible.
The investigation into the circumstances of the collision continues.
