Macon, GA – Update: Nicholas Chalker Killed in Pedestrian Accident on Gray Hwy 

Macon, GA (September 13, 2022) – Around 12 a.m. on Saturday night, September 10, a man was killed in a Macon pedestrian accident. He has since been identified by police. 

According to Bibb County Sheriff’s Office officials, the accident happened at 1300 Gray Highway. Police confirmed that an adult male was walking in the left lane of the highway when he was suddenly struck by a 42-year-old male driver in a pickup truck. He was then struck a second time by a 27-year-old man on a motorcycle.

Several Macon responders, including paramedics and fire crews, were called to the scene to help those in need. The pedestrian, identified as 31-year-old Nicolas Chalker, was tragically pronounced dead at the scene due to traumatic injuries. The motorcyclist was also taken to Atrium Health Navicent for treatment of injuries but is expected to be okay. 

The roadway was blocked in almost all lanes of traffic due to the severity of the crash as police worked to clear the scene. Charges are not currently pending, according to police. 

No further details have been released but the investigation into the accident continues.
