Lyons, GA – One Injured in House Fire on Old Donald Anderson Rd 

Lyons, GA (March 28, 2022) – Injuries were reported in a serious house fire that took place on a roadway in Lyons on Sunday morning, March 27. 

According to Toombs County officials, the incident took place around 10:56 a.m. on Old Donald Anderson Road. Fire crews received calls early in the morning that a home was completely engulfed in flames and smoke. They arrived at the scene to put out the fire and learned that one person was in the home at the time. 

Paramedics and numerous other local responders were immediately dispatched to the scene to help those in need. One person, who has not yet been identified, was seriously burned in the incident. They were rushed to a local hospital by medical helicopter, though their current condition is not yet known. 

The area was blocked off for an extended period of time. Fire crews were unable to get the fire completely under control until it burned the house to the ground. The home was a complete loss. 

No further details have been released but the investigation continues. Police will update as more information is available.
