Lula, GA – Edward Roper Killed in Motorcycle Accident on GA-51

Lula, GA (January 30, 2023) – A man was killed in a fatal motorcycle collision that took place on a major roadway in Lula on Saturday afternoon, January 28.
According to Georgia State Patrol officials, the accident happened at 3:57 p.m. at the intersection of GA-51 and County Line Road. Police confirmed that a man was headed east on GA-51 on his motorcycle at the same time as a Ford Ranger, which was headed north. The driver of the truck made a stop at the intersection and then continued onward. It was involved in a collision with the motorcycle due to reasons that are still being investigated.
Paramedics, fire crews, and several other responders were called to the scene to help those in need. The motorcyclist, who was identified as 33-year-old Edward Roper, was tragically pronounced dead at the scene due to traumatic injuries. Nobody else was hurt in the accident.
Due to the severity of the collision, the roadway was blocked at the intersection for a period of time. This led to delays until the scene was fully cleared.
