Pedestrian Accidents in South Carolina
Tragically, more people are being killed in pedestrian crashes nationwide, and these fatalities are on the rise in South Carolina. At least 115 pedestrians were struck and killed in South Carolina in 2012, according to early reports from the South Carolina Highway Patrol. A total of 110 pedestrians lost their lives in on the state’s roads in 2011.
Those who are not wearing seat belts, airbags, helmets, or other forms of safety equipment are among the most vulnerable road users. Additionally, many motorists just don’t look for or see pedestrians in our car-centered culture. Many are also either ignorant of or choose to disobey local regulations requiring them to yield to pedestrians attempting to cross a roadway. The pedestrian may suffer severe injuries or maybe pass away as a result.
A pedestrian accident could happen to anyone who is walking on or close to a road. However, some people are more at risk than others, and some places are more dangerous than others. Drivers who fail to share the road with pedestrians should be held accountable for their actions.
Rarely do people anticipate suffering a catastrophic injury when walking close to a busy road. According to the most recent accident data, many pedestrian accidents are reported around the state each year. In some circumstances, legal representation is necessary to secure compensation. Because we believe that those who have been wounded in car accidents have a right to a full recovery, the legal team at Monge & Associates is dedicated to making sure you receive the justice you deserve.
