South Carolina Car Accidents
Traffic accidents are the primary cause of mortality in South Carolina. According to the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety, South Carolina has the highest fatality rate in the US with 1.88 deaths for every 100 million miles driven. The national average is around two times higher.
In the state of South Carolina, if an automobile accident results in the damage or death of a person or people, the driver of the vehicle as well as multiple other parties may be held liable and susceptible to a personal injury lawsuit. If a defect caused the collision or if the damages were worse than they otherwise would have been, the manufacturer of either vehicle may be held accountable.
