LaGrange, GA – Woman Struck by Husband in Pedestrian Accident on Moores Hill
LaGrange, GA (August 18, 2022) – Around 10:55 a.m. on the morning of Thursday, August 18, a woman was injured in a pedestrian accident in LaGrange that was caused by her husband.
According to LaGrange Police, the accident happened around 105 Moores Hill. Police confirmed that a 32-year-old man forced his 42-year-old wife into an SUV at knifepoint. Police arrived before the husband could pull away and blocked him off with their vehicles. As the husband was speaking with the police, his wife tried to escape out of the SUV and was successful. The husband got back inside his vehicle and started to drive toward his wife, striking her and dragging her under the car. The vehicle dragged her along and went down an embankment. As this was happening, police shot at the vehicle and struck the husband.
Several responders, including paramedics and fire crews, were called to the scene to help those in need. The wife and husband were both taken to Piedmont Columbus Regional Midtown Hospital for treatment of their injuries.
The roadway was blocked in the area for some time until police cleared the scene.
No further details have been released but the investigation into the accident remains ongoing.
We offer our warmest thoughts and prayers to the woman who has sustained serious injuries in this accident.
