Holly Springs, GA – Update: Tessa Bower Killed in Fatal Crash on I-575

Holly Springs, GA (July 16, 2022) – A woman was killed in a fatal car accident that took place on a Holly Springs highway on Thursday afternoon, July 14. 

According to Holly Springs Police Department officials, the accident happened in the northbound lanes of I-575 around the area of the Sixes Road exit at 4:30 p.m. Initially, it was believed that two vehicles collided with each other but police did not state the circumstances that led up to the accident. The involved vehicles sustained severe damage as a result of the crash. 

Paramedics, fire crews, and several other responders were called to the scene to help those in need. Police confirmed that one victim was tragically pronounced dead at the hospital due to severe injuries, who has since been identified as 57-year-old Tessa Bower. It is not known if anyone else was hurt in the collision. 

Due to the severity of the collision, several northbound lanes of traffic were blocked for several hours. Police quickly worked to clear the scene so traffic could return to normal. 

No further details have been released. The investigation into the accident remains ongoing.
