Hawkinsville, GA – Man Burned in Mobile Home Fire on Hwy 341 

Hawkinsville, GA (October 24, 2022) – Around 9:30 p.m. on the night of Sunday, October 23, a man was burned in a mobile home fire in Hawkinsville. 

According to Houston County officials, the fire broke out in a mobile home at 2882 Highway 341. When fire crews received the call and arrived at the scene, they discovered that a mobile home was almost fully engulfed in flames. The back of the home, as well as the roof, were completely on fire. 

Police confirmed that a man and a woman were inside the mobile home when the fire started but they were able to get out of the home in time. The man, who has not yet been formally identified, sustained burn injuries as a result of the fire. He was rushed to a local hospital in Atlanta by medical helicopter. The woman sustained smoke inhalation and was treated at the scene but is expected to be okay. 

The area was blocked off for an extended period of time as fire crews worked to clear the scene. Fire crews determined that the house is no longer inhabitable due to the damages. 

The investigation into the circumstances of the fire remains ongoing.
