Hardeeville, SC - Latifah Anderson Dies in Pedestrian Crash on US-17

In the United States, pedestrian fatalities are on the rise, with a nearly 10% increase in 2015. In the event of a car accident, a pedestrian has little protection, which means they are more likely to suffer life-threatening injuries. In 2015, there were 5,376 pedestrian fatalities in the United States. A pedestrian was killed every 1.6 hours on average in the United States, with a pedestrian injury every 7.5 minutes.

There are a number of factors that have contributed to the rise in fatal pedestrian collisions. Distracted driving has become a major safety issue in South Carolina, but it isn’t the only factor that contributes to pedestrian accidents. The state has one of the country’s highest pedestrian fatality rates. The majority of these accidents are caused by driver distraction, intoxication, or general negligence behind the wheel, according to our personal injury lawyers in Hardeeville.
