Greenwood, SC (December 26, 2022) – A 39-year-old man from Hodges has died as a result of a pedestrian crash that took place in Greenwood County. On December 24, the South Carolina Highway Patrol responded to the site of a traffic accident that took place on South Carolina Highway 254.

According to law enforcement, 39-year-old Edward Joseph Mackie was walking on South Carolina Highway 254 when he was struck by a 2009 Jeep Grand Cherokee in the area of Cokesbury Road.

Mackie was severely harmed as a result of this traffic accident. The victim was pronounced dead by Greenwood County coroner Sonny Cox.

At this time, the South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating the accident.
