Greenville, SC (December 19, 2022) – Four people were injured following a crash involving a semi-truck in the Greenville area on Saturday night, December 17.
The accident took place on US-127 near Childrens Home Bradford Road that evening at around 8:40 p.m. It was reported that 60-year-old Randy Brunswick of Fort Loramie was driving a Chevrolet Traverse headed eastbound. Brunswick reportedly failed to yield to a tractor-trailer driven by 42-year-old William Kellam of South Carolina.
Brunswick’s vehicle crashed into a ditch after the crash. He and two juvenile passengers were transported to Wayne Healthcare before being taken to Miami Valley Hospital. Another passenger, 54-year-old Tena Black, was taken to Miami Valley Hospital in critical condition.
An ongoing investigation into the cause of the crash is in progress.
Our thoughts are with the injured victims and their families at this time. We hope for their full recovery.
More than 5,000 people lost their lives in accidents involving large trucks in 2013, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. The vast majority of those killed were passengers in other automobiles. Unfortunately, as long as the trucking business continues to place pressure on its drivers to finish deliveries more quickly without considering the safety of other road users, this risky propensity will persist.
