Negligence is unquestionably the leading cause of crashes involving pedestrians, thus it is crucial to be aware of your surroundings whenever you are on foot and to give cars and drivers the benefit of the doubt if there is a chance that they may not notice you. The following elements might lead to serious injuries or even fatalities.

We are practically defenseless in the event that a driver is distracted and does not completely stop at a crosswalk or that a driver is driving too fast and runs a red light, striking people who are walking across an intersection in accordance with the law because almost all of us will be pedestrians at some point throughout the course of the day.
