Florence, SC – Paramedic, Motorcyclist Killed at Crash Site on SC-51

Florence, SC (August 10, 2022) – A paramedic and a motorcyclist died after being hit by a driver who ran into a crash site in Florence on Tuesday evening, August 9. The deadly accident was reported on SC-51 at around 9 p.m. 

Local reports revealed that two motorcyclists were seriously injured following a crash in the area. Officers and paramedics were attending to the injured parties when another driver drove through the scene. 

An officer was able to pull a trooper out of the way, but a paramedic and an injured rider were critically injured. Both were later pronounced dead at the scene. Two other first responders were hospitalized for treatment, as well as the elderly at-fault driver. 

No further updates have been provided. 

An ongoing investigation into the deadly crash is underway.
