Evans, GA (December 20, 2022) – Around 6 p.m. on Tuesday evening, December 20, a hit-and-run pedestrian accident took place on a roadway in Evans, Georgia.
According to Columbia County officials, the accident happened on Columbia Industrial Boulevard. Police confirmed that a pedestrian was walking across the street in the area when they were suddenly struck by a two-door Ford F-150 with a black trailer behind it. After the Ford struck the pedestrian, it continued to travel eastbound on Washington Road and the driver did not check on the pedestrian.
Several responders, including Evans paramedics and fire crews, were called to the scene to help those in need. The pedestrian was taken to the hospital after being treated on scene by EMS crews. Their current condition is not yet known.
The roadway was blocked in the area for an extended period of time. Police did not say if they found the driver responsible for the accident.
No further details have been released but the investigation into the collision continues.
