In 2015, there were 114 fatalities on the roads that were linked to the operation of large trucks or buses. This number is much higher than the 63 that were reported the year before. The results of an investigation conducted by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration found that the frequency of these incidents has dramatically grown over the course of the last few years (FMCSA). Throughout the course of the year, there were a total of 95 accidents involving 102 heavy vehicles that resulted in the deaths of these individuals. Within these 16 incidents, there was just one vehicle involved each time.
