Car Accidents in Georgia
Car accidents have quickly become a leading cause of hospitalizations within the state of Georgia. Though car accidents take on many forms, DUI accidents are known for being some of the most severe accidents. This is due to the fact that many DUI drivers do not stop in time, causing them to slam into other vehicles at high speeds. Between the years 2003 and 2012, it was reported that 3,699 people were killed in fatal DUI accidents and many others were injured in Georgia. If you have been hurt in a car accident caused by a DUI driver, it is important that you speak with an attorney that you can trust.
Moving forward after a car accident can be a difficult thing to endure. Though it may seem easy to prove that another party was intoxicated at the time of an accident, you will also need to show that this was the cause of your collision. It is not always easy to do entirely on your own, which is why the help of an attorney is imperative. An attorney can help you show that the following aspects were present in your case:
- A driver owed you a duty of care
- A driver breached the duty of care
- The breach of duty led to the accident
- The accident led to damages
