Cornelia, GA – Injuries in Workplace Accident at Fieldale Farms Plant

Cornelia, GA (July 6, 2022) – Injuries were reported in a workplace accident that took place at a farm plant in Cornelia on Wednesday morning, July 6. 

According to Habersham County officials, the accident happened around 4:30 a.m. at the Fieldale Farms plant on Irvin Street. When responders arrived at the scene, they found that a worker was working with machinery and his arm got stuck inside one of the machines. No other workers were involved in the incident. 

Several local responders, including paramedics and fire crews, were immediately dispatched to the scene of the accident. The worker, who was only identified as an adult male, sustained traumatic injuries as a result of the accident. He was rushed to Northeast Georgia Medical Center for further treatment. 

The area was blocked off for some time as the Occupational Safety and Health Administration worked on its investigation. 

Police continue a further investigation into the accident at this time.
