Conyers, GA (January 24, 2023) – One or more parties sustained injuries as a result of a car accident that took place on a highway in Conyers on the morning of Tuesday, January 24.
According to Rockdale County officials, the accident happened around 1:53 a.m. in the westbound lanes of I-20 around the area of Sigman Road (exit 78). Police confirmed that several vehicles were traveling in the area when they became involved in a chain-reaction collision due to reasons that are not fully known. One of the vehicles ran into the median as a result, leading to extensive damages.
Paramedics, fire crews, and several other responders were called to the scene to help those in need. Multiple parties were injured as a result of the accident. The injured parties were taken to local hospitals for treatment, though their conditions are not known at this time.
Two left lanes of traffic were blocked as a result of the accident. There were delays in the area until the scene was fully cleared.
