A number of complicated rules govern these claims, including who can file a claim and when a wrongful death claim in South Carolina is appropriate. When the at-fault party was the direct cause of the victim’s death, a wrongful death lawsuit is an option. A representative of the deceased should file a claim and attempt to prove the defendant’s negligence with the help of a Columbia personal accident lawyer.
