Columbia, SC – Pedestrian Fatally Hit by Semi-Truck on I-20
Columbia, SC (December 9, 2021) – On Thursday morning, December 9, a pedestrian was killed after being hit by a commercial vehicle in Columbia. The deadly pedestrian crash occurred on Interstate 20 near mile marker 68 at around 3:30 a.m.
The pedestrian was reportedly on the roadway as a semi-truck was headed eastbound. The truck driver struck the pedestrian, and the injured party sustained fatal injuries in the impact. The identity of the deceased victim has not been revealed at this time. No other injuries were reported.
An ongoing investigation into the cause of the incident is underway.
