Fatal Head-On Crashes in South Carolina
An accident involving a head-on collision in a vehicle might have disastrous results. Although they make up the smallest percentage of crashes—2% annually—you are almost certainly going to have serious injuries. These accidents often involve distracted motorists veering into oncoming traffic.
The tragic loss of a family member in an accident affects everyone in the family. It may have made it difficult for you to maintain your financial obligations, look after your loved ones, and, perhaps most importantly, deal with the emotional anguish you’ve experienced. Even worse, the party at blame may refuse to compensate you for the death of your loved one, leaving you with the cost and no resolution to the tragedy.
Since the deceased victim cannot advocate for themselves, wrongful death lawsuits can be very difficult to resolve. In order to avoid legal muddles, several jurisdictions have restrictions on who can file a wrongful death suit. A wrongful death case in South Carolina must be initiated by the estate’s executor or administrator. However, this does not exclude relatives from receiving damages for their losses.
Helping families who have lost a loved one as a result of another’s negligence has always been our main priority at Monge & Associates. After a terrible incident, our attorneys help the surviving family members file a claim against the responsible parties in order to receive fair compensation. You shouldn’t be held accountable for a family member’s passing caused by another person’s negligence.
