Columbia, SC (December 1, 2022) – One person was killed and another injured after a moped was hit by a motor vehicle in Columbia on Tuesday night, November 29.
The deadly crash was reported at the intersection of Hard Scrabble and Clemson Roads at around 10:30 p.m. The driver of a Honda Accord reportedly hit the rear of a moped near the scene. The operator of the bike sustained fatal injuries, and the bike’s passenger was transported to Prisma Health Richland for treatment.
The identity of the deceased party has not been revealed at this time. No updates on the conditions of the injured victim were disclosed.
An ongoing investigation into the cause of the fatal accident is underway.
