South Carolina Fatal Intersection Crashes
Intersection collisions are among the most dangerous on the road and account for nearly half of all serious injuries and a quarter of all fatalities. Nearly a quarter of all intersection collisions are caused by left-hand turns. According to the Federal Highway Administration, nearly 2.5 million car accidents occur at intersections each year, accounting for more than 40% of all recorded car crashes in the US, and this shows just how serious the problem of intersection safety is in South Carolina.
If a loved one was killed in a car accident, you should file a wrongful death claim. A number of complicated rules govern these claims, including who can file a claim and when a wrongful death claim in South Carolina is appropriate. When the at-fault party was the direct cause of the victim’s death, a wrongful death lawsuit is an option. A representative of the deceased should file a claim and attempt to prove the defendant’s negligence with the help of a Columbia car accident lawyer.
