College Park, GA (December 4, 2022) – Around 5:25 p.m. on Sunday evening, a big-rig accident with injuries took place on a highway in College Park.
According to College Park officials, the accident happened in the westbound lanes of I-285 around the area of Riverdale Road. A tractor-trailer was traveling in the area when the driver lost control due to unknown reasons, causing the truck to collide with one or more passenger vehicles. The involved vehicles were extensively damaged due to the collision.
Paramedics, fire crews, and several other responders were called to the scene to help those in need. One or more parties sustained serious injuries in the accident. The injured victims, who have not yet been identified, were rushed to local hospitals for treatment of their injuries.
Two right lanes of traffic were blocked in the area for a period of time. Police urged those in the area to use Highway 29 as an alternate route.
