Clarkesville, GA – Rollover Crash with Injuries at Toccoa Hwy & Bob Patton Rd
Clarkesville, GA (August 27, 2022) – Injuries stemmed from a serious rollover accident that took place in Clarkesville on Friday evening, August 26.
Georgia State Patrol officials confirmed that the accident happened around 5:40 p.m. at the intersection of Toccoa Highway and Bob Patton Road. Police confirmed that 71-year-old Candace Krefft was traveling in the area when she failed to stop at a stop sign at the intersection. Her Mazda sedan collided with a Toyota Corolla that was operated by 81-year-old Howard McGlennen, This caused the vehicle to overturn.
Paramedics, fire crews, and several other Clarkesville responders were called to the scene. McGlennen, as well as his passenger identified as 79-year-old Elaine McGlennen, were both injured as a result of the accident. The parties were both hospitalized but their current conditions are not yet known. A second passenger in the vehicle, identified as 24-year-old Alexander Blakely, was not hurt.
The roadway was blocked at the intersection for some time following the collision. Police charged Krefft with failing to stop at a stop sign for her role in the accident.
No further details have been released but police continue their investigation into the circumstances of the accident.
