Chattanooga Valley, GA – Update: Three Injured in Car Crash at GA-2 & GA-193

Chattanooga Valley, GA (September 22, 2022) – Around 7:33 p.m. on the evening of Wednesday, three people were hurt in a car accident in Chattanooga Valley. 

According to Georgia State Patrol officials, the accident happened at the intersection of GA-2 and GA-193. Police confirmed that 29-year-old Taylor Jones was traveling south on GA-193 in a Kia Sorento and 20-year-old Michael Goodwin was driving in a Ford Mustang as Jones tried to make a left turn. Goodwin was unable to avoid the crash and both vehicles collided with one another. 

Paramedics, fire crews, and several other responders were called to the scene to help those in need. Goodwin, as well as his passenger 18-year-old Kristen Crawford, were both injured in the accident and rushed to CHI Memorial of Georgia. Jones was also hurt but was not taken to the hospital. Their conditions are not known at this time. 

The roadway was blocked in the area of the accident for a period of time. Jones was cited for failing to yield while making a turn, as well as traveling without insurance. 

The investigation into the circumstances of the collision continues at this time. Police will update with more information as it is available.
