Canton, GA – Tractor-Trailer Crash Involving Rollover at GA-108 & Ruff White Trl

Canton, GA (March 21, 2022) – Around 7:51 a.m. on Monday morning, March 21, a tractor-trailer crash tool place at an intersection in Canton.

According to the Cherokee Sheriff’s Office, the accident happened at the intersection of GA-108 and Ruff White Trail. A tractor-trailer was traveling in the area when it collided with a passenger vehicle that was traveling through the intersection due to unknown reasons. The truck went off the side of the road and overturned, which led to extensive damages.

Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other local responders were called to the scene to help those in need. One or more victims sustained injuries as a result of the accident. The injured parties were hospitalized but are expected to be okay.

Due to the severity of the accident, the roadway was blocked at the intersection for some time. This led to delays in the area until police cleared the scene and brought the tractor-trailer upright.

The investigation into the circumstances of the accident continues at this time.

Our thoughts are with the injured victims and their families in hopes of a full recovery.

Truck Accidents in Georgia

More and more tractor-trailers are navigating our roads in Georgia every year as they become one of the leading modes of transportation. Unfortunately, this also means that more truck accidents will take place due to the reckless acts of others. Truck drivers are supposed to be some of the safest drivers on our roads but this does not mean that truck accidents will never occur. In one recent year’s time in the U.S., over 110,000 people were seriously injured as a result of truck accidents. These accidents happen in the blink of an eye in many different areas but intersections are known for being some of the most common. If you have been hurt in a truck accident, you should speak with an attorney who has your best interests in mind.

Trucks are so large that they have the potential to cause devastating accidents and injuries. This is why the federal government has stepped in and set regulations that truck drivers and trucking companies have to abide by. However, this does not always mean that these rules will be followed. Truck drivers still sometimes fail to abide by the number of hours they should spend on the roads, which could mean drowsy driving will occur. On top of this, trucking companies sometimes negligently hire drivers who are not trained for the job. If you have been hurt in a truck crash, you should speak with a Canton truck accident attorney immediately.
