Scott Monge on Avvo: Online and Offline Tips for Success
For those of you who are unfamiliar with Avvo, Avvo functions as a directory to search and find lawyers in your area, a medium for obtaining free legal advice from identified lawyers, with the added convenience of obtaining an answer to your question for free easily and quickly.
Avvo wants prospective clients to make smarter legal decisions and, frankly, so do I. Having free access to expert legal advice where and when you need it saves you the trials and tribulations that goes along with finding the right lawyer. Furthermore, 95% of practicing lawyers are featured on Avvo where users will find detailed profiles that include the objective Avvo rating, client and peer reviews, and cost information. More than just a place to locate and hire a lawyer, users can depend on Avvo lawyers to provide the tools necessary to make informed decisions every step of the way.
Now, some of you might be wondering how Avvo works to benefit lawyers? Most lawyers simply don’t have the time to brand their firm and could use some guidance on implementing a strategic approach. Avvo accomplishes that goal by providing lawyers with a marketing platform that showcases expertise, helps to expand a network, and connect with prospective clients in your area that, in turn, may elicit them to seek your advice on a consistent basis –outside of Avvo. Through a variety of strategic advertising solutions and user-friendly tools to help lawyers manage their leads from first contact, I can say first hand that Avvo is successful in increasing a lawyer’s online visibility.
As stated before, it’s hard to go unnoticed in the legal community even if you need a boost with online visibility. To reaffirm that conception, Avvo contains more than 600,000 reviews from clients and peers. Like any profession that provides a service to others, all eyes are on you! As of now, I have the highest rating that one can achieve on Avvo, which is a ten out of ten. But how did I get there? Aside from knowing my specialty in law like the back of my hand, it certainly didn’t happen overnight.
Coming from humble beginnings, I know first hand that superior conduct is not a switch that can be turned on and off. It simply has to reside within your values and ethics. With that said, I have always had a desire to help others and felt that a career in law would be the best way to do that. Building a law firm that is founded on the principle of providing quality legal services, with an emphasis on personal attention and compassion, I believe that all clients deserve superior conduct from the lawyers they commission.
Twenty-one years later, and with a practice that has grown with thousands of successes under their belts, my firm is truly able to act as the standing definition of satisfaction. I not only give my clients the hope of satisfaction, I guarantee it through exceptional attorney client communication.
In order to help my clients distinguish quality from unprofessionalism, I take it a step further by providing each with a Client Bill of Rights that outlines what he or she is entitled to. At the end of the day, it’s more than just winning a case. A lawyer should have a client’s best interest in mind, regardless of the outcome.
While each lawyer will have his or her own way of meeting such expectations, customer service has to be entwined with the bottom line in order to gain legitimate recognition from the legal community and, most importantly, the public. In sum, I joined Avvo because I wanted to extend my expertise and level of service to people in need.
