Scott Monge Explains How Police Identified Missing Student

Scott Monge

According to the Georgia Governor’s Office of Highway Safety, the accident rates on the state’s roads remain high. The most recent figures indicate that there are 1,223 deaths on Georgia’s roads each year. Of these, one-third involved speeding or alcohol-impaired driving, and 130 pedestrians died in crashes over the same period.

What these numbers do not reveal is the emotional pain of the victims and their families. The impact of car crashes is far-reaching, even if they do not cause serious injuries or deaths. Unfortunately, injurious accidents not only can cause physical trauma, but they can also leave individuals and families in financial ruin.

Law Enforcement Reveals That Car Crash Victim Is Missing Georgia Tech Student

CBS reports that police found missing Georgia Tech student Kinsey Canova after someone saw her photograph and recognized her from a car crash. Friends and family reported Canova missing after she failed to appear at work or return to her apartment.

Canova took her boyfriend to the Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, but no one had seen her since. Facebook users shared a photograph of Canova multiple times, until someone eventually identified her.

Canova was the victim of a multiple-car pileup when a tractor-trailer crashed into the back of her vehicle early on Sunday morning. Her mother says that she took a blow to the head and that her car is unrecognizable. She is struggling to remain conscious, but hospital workers believe she is in a somewhat stable condition.

Man Dies in Single-Car Accident

AJC reports that a man died in a single-vehicle accident in Kennesaw. The crash was in the early hours of Sunday morning.

Local police say they found the body of the man on George Busbee Parkway. He was in a wrecked vehicle at the time. They believe the man was driving north on the road when he lost control of his car while rounding a curve.

The vehicle hit a tree on the side of the road and spun out. A full investigation into the incident is underway, and police believe that excessive speed may have played a role in the crash. There were no other vehicles on the scene or signs of any other injuries, and police are appealing to anyone who might have seen the crash to call the local police station.
