Scott Monge Examines Georgia Car Accident That Caused Fatal Injuries

Scott Monge

Georgia Highway Safety says that there are more than 1,000 fatal accidents on the state’s roads each year. Traditionally, rural and urban areas host a fairly equal share of fatal accidents, with just a slightly higher number happening outside of the major cities.

The number of car crashes on Georgia’s roads is a concern for authorities. Although efforts by law enforcement have gradually lowered the car crash rate over recent years, vehicle collisions and pedestrian accidents affect innocent families every day.

If you or a member of your family has sustained injuries in a car crash and you are struggling to pay medical bills, an Atlanta personal-injury lawyer may be able to provide some relief. At Monge & Associates, Scott Monge and his team are committed to defending the rights of the injured, and we will work with you to recover costs associated with debilitating car accident injuries. Couple Dies in Georgia Crash

AJC reports that a couple in their early-50s died in a Bartow County car accident. Police say they were in a crash with a driver who was allegedly drunk at the time. The crash happened on Interstate 75.

Police charged a man with two counts of first-degree vehicular homicide, driving under the influence, possession of marijuana and driving with an open container of alcohol. He crashed into the couple’s vehicle while driving south on I-75, causing it to leave the roadway and travel down a steep embankment.

Police are holding the man without bond, and he will appear in court on the various charges soon. Family and friends organized a memorial service for the couple in their hometown of Woodstock.

Atlanta Streetcar Crashes Twice in Testing Phase

The Atlanta Business Chronicle reports the Atlanta streetcar has crashed twice while still in its testing phase. On Sunday, it crashed into a parked vehicle close to Centennial Olympic Park.

The spokeswoman for the streetcar company says another vehicle attempted to pass the streetcar while it was conducting a turn during a controlled test trip. The crash caused no injuries to the drivers or any passengers.

This is the second crash to affect the new streetcar. Just one week ago, another driver crashed into the streetcar. Officials were planning to launch the streetcar in the middle of November, but the recent crashes have pushed back the launch date. It is now likely to launch in early December, once authorities have conducted more safety tests and they are comfortable that it is safe for full-time operation.

If you or a member of your family faces injuries or deaths as a result of a car crash, it is important to get legal assistance to help recover some of the expenses.
