Fatal Car Accidents in South Carolina
Driving a car is one of the most dangerous activities we engage in on a daily basis. In 2018, South Carolina had the highest per capita rate of fatal collisions in the country. Automobiles, trucks, and SUVs accounted for roughly 65% of all fatal vehicle incidents in the state that year, with 1,037 fatalities. Other motorists are responsible for roughly 82% of all fatal crashes in South Carolina, according to data.
You should file a wrongful death claim if a loved one was killed in a car accident. These claims are governed by a number of complicated rules, including who can file a claim and when a wrongful death claim in South Carolina is appropriate. A wrongful death lawsuit is an option when the at-fault party was the direct cause of the victim’s death. With the help of a Belton car accident lawyer, a representative of the deceased should file a claim and attempt to prove the defendant’s negligence.
