Augusta, GA – Randolf Brinson Killed in Fatal Pedestrian Crash at Walton Way
Augusta, GA (May 9, 2022) – A pedestrian accident that took place on Saturday night, May 7, claimed the life of one victim in Augusta.
According to the Augusta Police Department, the accident happened around 11:30 p.m. at 900 Walton Way. When police responded to the scene, they found that a pedestrian identified as 62-year-old Randolf Brinson was walking in the area when he was suddenly struck by a passenger vehicle. Though no further information was provided on the circumstances leading up to the crash, it is believed that the driver remained at the scene.
Fire crews, paramedics, and several other Augusta responders were dispatched to the scene. Brinson was traumatically injured in the crash. He was tragically pronounced deceased at the scene. It is not known if anyone else was hurt in the collision.
A large portion of the road was blocked in the area of the accident for some time as police worked to clear the scene.
The Richmond County Coroner’s Office and various other responders continue their investigation into the circumstances of the collision.
