Auburn, GA – One Killed in Fatal House Fire on Hayes Rd

Auburn, GA (March 26, 2022) – Around 11:20 p.m. on Friday night, March 25, one person was killed in a fatal house fire in Auburn.

According to Gwinnett County fire and police, the incident took place late at night on Hayes Road. A neighbor initially called 911 after they heard a loud sound and saw smoke pouring out of a local home. When fire crews arrived at the scene, they found large amounts of smoke coming out of the home. They started to search the home and attack the fire with a hose.

Paramedics and numerous other local responders were dispatched to the scene. One person was pulled out of the home by fire crews after they were found on the floor of the home, unconscious. The party was tragically pronounced dead at the scene due to their injuries.

Due to the severity of the fire, crews determined that the second floor of the home collapsed. They quickly brought the fire under control and the scene was cleared.

The investigation into the circumstances of the fire continues at this time.

We would like to offer our deepest condolences to the family of the deceased victim at this time.
