Atlanta, GA – Van Crash with Serious Injuries on I-20 Near Hamilton E Holmes Dr

Atlanta, GA (January 30, 2023) – At 10:39 a.m. on the morning of Monday, January 30, a car accident involving a van and at least one other vehicle happened in Atlanta. 

According to Atlanta Police, the accident happened in the eastbound lanes of I-20 around the area of Hamilton E. Holmes Drive. Police confirmed that a van was traveling in the area when it became involved in a collision with at least one other vehicle. The van got turned around in traffic and sustained front-end damages, leaving fuel and debris all over the highway in the area. 

Paramedics, fire crews, and several other responders were called to the scene to help those with injuries. One or more individuals were harmed as a result of the accident. The injured parties, who have not yet been identified, were taken to local hospitals by ambulances. Their conditions are not yet known. 

Two right lanes of traffic were blocked in the area for an extended period of time. Police urged those in the area to use Highway 78 as an alternate route for those headed into Downtown Atlanta. 

No further details have been released. Police continue their investigation into the circumstances of the accident at this time.
